We found out something that will make her fall asleep!!! We SWADDEL her!! Monday night I was trying to get her to sleep (she would be up from 11:00pm to 3:30am for the past couple of nights) and I know that it was taking a toll on me. Adam took the night shift and tried something new. She was asleep in minutes. She is now back to sleeping about 4 hours at a time.
This is what Katie has taught us in the past three weeks....
Drives in the car do work to calm her down.
She knows the music CD to take to the hospital that I played in the car while I was pregnant with her.
There is a separate cry for "I need to get my diaper changed!!!", "I AM HUNGRY" and the ever popular "What??? WHERE IS GRANDMA!!!!"
She knows that after her diaper changed it is food time.
Like dogs if the child is sleeping somewhere LET THEM SLEEP THERE!!!
Grandma's spoil her and she loves it. She actually got Nana Teresa to stay about 10 minutes longer because she gave the "diaper dirty" cry. Once she was held and brought down the hallway she had this HUGE smile on her face!
Sleep when the baby sleeps. I try to but if I do that I wouldn't be able to get somethings done and I would be up all night.
If you bring a baby to work all production stops!

Two weeks and 3 days old
On Tuesday we went to Harris HEB to get Katie's second PKU test. They took blood from her heel and she let them know that she was NOT happy (they could hear her scream in the lobby). Then we went over to Radiology (where I used to work) to have Katie see Momma Janice. After that we went to get her weighed (Dr. Olivo wanted her to be weighed because at her one week appointment she weighed 7 pounds 14 oz...I still think the scale is wrong) she now weighs 8 pounds 5 oz. We then went to City of Euless to visit Daddy and have her stop all office work within a 10 foot area.
After lunch we went on the road solo to the City of Bedford to get her birth certificate and then to the office to see the girls (another place where all work stops).
Today (Friday) she is with Grandma and Grandpa Eakins and tonight Nana Teresa will be coming over to babysit so Adam and I can go out to dinner and then to the movies.

Our Silly Girl
So I was getting ready to feed her on Friday and she was so hungry she put her finger in her mouth. When I put the bottle in she wouldn't move finger. After she chugged her bottle she still had her finger in there.

Just too Cute!!!!
She has everyone wrapped around her pinky monkey toe!!! We went to HEB to have her be weighted and she is now at 8 pounds 9 oz! She (now) sleeps a lot and chugs down her bottle. She is very happy and when she is upset she will let us know. She had Dr Prentice laughing because she was shaking her head "no" when she was being delivered. Dr Prentice never saw a baby do that before.
Well since the little booger bear has been born Postcards from the Pregnancy will be retired until we decide when she will have a little brother or sister. This is probably the only less than a week old kid that has a blog...but remember who her parents are...Greatwhitepaw.com is mainly for the cats. They just let us post stuff on the site.
