Decided that we needed to go to the store before everyone in the world decided to go. So we went to Kroger. This is the first time that Katie is in a cart. I had this cart protecter thing on but she kept on tipping over so I strapped her in. She still wanted to tip over.

Christmas 2006
Katie got a jumparoo from Santa. She also got a Baby Pooh bear doll that lights up (kind of like that old Glow worm toy that they had about 15 years ago)
You are all against me (BABY RAGE) 4
She finally calmed down a little. Took about ten minutes or so and she even pulled the little sniffle sobs. She's our little drama queen.
Asleep
Katie fell asleep in her high chair for a good 20 minutes or so. When we got back to G&G Eakins she then took a three hour nap. Christmas wore her out.

Anniversary and Birthday
A year ago today Adam and I went to see Dr. Prentice for the annual check up. I asked her for an early Christmas gift and seeing if we could see if it was going to be a boy or girl. She made me promise that if she was wrong that I would not blame her.
I was looking at the screen and hearing the words "Looks like it's going to be a girl"
I held back the tears until she left. (I would of cried if it was a boy also)
I also thanked my Mom. Who would have been 59 last year. Katie's middle name is for Mom. The angel who got us together.
Happy 60th birthday Mom. We miss you and think about you every day.

Katie at Dr office
I had to video this. I know that the screen is fuzzy it was recorded on my phone.
Katie 6 month check up
So Katie had her 6 month check up today. She weighs 15 pounds 12 oz, is 26 inches long, and is getting a tooth. She had 5 (yes 5) shots today. She has to go back in a month for the flu booster shot. Her next appointment will be at 9 months. Everything looks great.
As you can see from the pictures (and the video) Christmas is not going to be about toys, clothes, or the boxes that the toys come in...but the PAPER that it is wrapped in.

Bridget's last day at WDT/Gift from Tessa
So I went to work on Friday and walked into the scheduling office. I saw a bag for me. No card or note. Opened it and saw this beautiful blanket that had my name on it and the name of our office. (I worked for Women's Diagnostic of Texas. Lisa Trent was our founders neice who died of breast cancer in her early thirtys). Found out Tessa was the one who gave it to me.
By the end of the day when the girls started leaving we all agreed that it wasn't goodbye. They didn't have a party for me or a big send off. I'm glad because I know (and they did too) that I would of cried. So they all said "see ya later...when are you bringing Katie??" (it's all about the kid...She's the employee of the year at that place)
When I walked out it felt strange and scary. Strange because I knew that the next time I come back I would have to go in the front door. Scary because now I have boss that depends on me for everything. But we'll make it.
So I asked my boss if she had a 401K plan....She told me no but she had a 401Poop plan...and it's craptastic.

New Job
Tomorrow I will be letting my office know that I have accepted a new job. Everyone has kind of known that this was going to happen. Some are surpised that I lasted this long. I have decided to be a full time Mom.
For a long as I can remember I have always wanted kids. I have spoiled everyone elses kids and longed to be able to have someone call me Mom. On June 6 I got that wish.
Today after leaving Katie at daycare I was thinking about how much time I spend with her. It was not enough time. I felt like a weekend Mom. Yes I know that she is getting attention. Yes I know that it is good for her to be social. But she is now starting her "Firsts" and I don't want to miss that.
I have talked to the girls at work and they support me on this decision. They will miss me but as Grandma Velma said to me today "Life is short. Watch your kid grow up" I will be hard leaving them but I know that this is the right decision for me.

Four Month Checkup
So Katie had her Dr appointment today. Everything seems to be fine. She weighs 13 pounds 7 oz and is 24 and a half inches long. She can now offically start eating cerial and gradually start on food....this is going to get messy. She got four shots (again) and she was NOT HAPPY (again). After that we went over to the office where she fell asleep. Her next appointment is on Dec 13 at 3:45. Next time she will be going to the office to visit the girls will be Halloween. I'm taking a day off to bring her back to the office and then to Adam's office.

baby bjorn
this was taken about three weeks ago. I decided to put her in what we call her "Bucky carrier" (from the cartoon strip "Get fuzzy") and I decided to go out and get the mail. Sadly we realized that the carrier (and the hat) was getting too small for her. Our little girl is growing up.

Katie and Kayla
We came in to pick up boogerbear after work (grandma is still sick) and found her here with Kayla. Don't they look cute!!! Everytime I think about quitting and staying at home with her I then think about how much she has learned and now knows that there are others like her.

Daycare Diseases
So after a week of being at daycare Katie brings home the sniffles. "It will build up her immune system" Adam says. Two days later Adam feels icky. Head hurts and his stomach feels squishy so he takes a half day off and goes home. I feel tired but it's Monday and what else is new. I'm ALWAYS tired...I'm a Mom! That night I went to Belly Dance and picked up the "snot monster" at G&G Eakins. After eating Arby's and getting everything ready for the next day I don't feel so well. I took some pepto and went to bed. Woke up at 2am, took some pepto and went to bed. Katie woke up at 6 and I went to feed her. I start to feel icky. Adam feels better but not at 100 percent. I went to get ready for work and Adam says "Don't get sick in the bathroom" What does my stomach hear "Get...sick..in...bathroom" So now I'm sick. Adam feels better by Wednesday...It takes me to FRIDAY to finally feel better.
This morning Adam's cell phone goes off. It's Grandma Barbara. "I'm sick. I'm not going to work. You'll have to pick up the baby" Yeah...guess what she got...The disease from the snot monster.
Other than that Katie is now 3 and a half months old (15 weeks old) today. She's still a happy baby in the morning and now can "talk" your ear off. She seems to enjoy daycare and they still love her there. She is trying to roll over but can't figure out that she has to move her arm to get over. She also can lift her head up very steady now. I miss her like crazy while I am at work but I know that this is good for her. I also know that I would probably go insane if I stayed at home all day.
I have spoiled the girls at work for bringing Katie in once a week. They now want me to take a day off so I can bring her over. I'm glad I decided to have Katie's Dr in the same building that I work in the next appointment is on Oct 12th.

Goal for School
Katie's goal for school (besides ruling the world) is to be the only one in the class to put her entire hand in her mouth.
